So far about 5000 copies of books have already been sent to schools of Gansu. My friends there have begun to tidy up them. We are going there in about June or July to establish the library. Everyday maintenance and functioning of the library thereafter rely on my friends there to help. If you have more books, hope you can donate once more, because the library absolutely needs more books and sustaining supplement.

    This year not a few students of Grade 3 who are going to take test for senior have left school. The biggest reason of leaving school in Grade 3, besides economic condition, is the enormous spiritual pressure. Because of highly weak elementary education, which makes most of the students have great difficulty in lessons, even some students who study first-rate fear that they won’t pass the test for senior. Perhaps for them, entering senior is just like entering college for city children. Many students have lost confidence under great pressure. Hardship of life makes them yearn for going to school while they worry about their failure. Poor study might waste their home money. Study, for them, is both one of a few chances they have and a painful struggle. When Grade 1 starts, there may be 60 students in their class. And it decreases year after year subsequently. Those who can finish Grade 3 successfully eventually are probably just one third. Sometimes, finishing junior school also means the end of study life in all lifetime. They have to go back to the fields and continue to struggle hopelessly again.

    Profile is growing day by day. From National Education Committee and Fujian Provincial Committee to some big media, they all have been there. But the fact is not so hopeful as they said. It is not known how long the process will take and whether the essential changes will really be realized. The difference between name and effect is enormous. The particular taches between them are rarely paid attention to.
